American Indian Studies

The American Indian Studies program responds to the needs of the ʔɔʔɔɔ́ɔ́niiénńɔh and Nakoda Tribes in regard to sovereignty, identity, awareness, history, language, philosophy, and issues. Considering the historical relationship between the tribal nations and the federal government, the AIS program is of vital importance to the futures of students and community members of the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation. A student selecting this major can further study in the fields of the social sciences, humanities, education, or law.
