We’re beyond excited to share that Aaniiih Nakoda College has received funding to continue our Namibia Field Course – Targeted STEM Infusion Project (TSIP).
Even better, the new budget includes funds to support reciprocal student exchanges!
This program has provided ANC students with valuable opportunities to explore Namibia’s ecosystems, learn about conservation efforts, and connect with local communities. These hands-on experiences and cultural exchanges have enriched students’ understanding of environmental and cultural issues and prepared them for future careers in STEM.
What’s New: Welcoming Namibian Students to Fort Belknap
During recent conversations, the idea of hosting Namibian students at Fort Belknap was raised—and now it’s becoming a reality! The updated funding will allow Namibian students to visit and experience life on the reservation. They’ll learn about Aaniiih and Nakoda culture, buffalo management, the ecology of the Great Plains, and local environmental challenges.
Our students are just as excited to host their Namibian peers and share their community, history, and knowledge. These visits will build stronger connections and create meaningful learning opportunities for everyone involved.
Looking Ahead
The next trips to Namibia are set to begin again in 2026, and we’re eager to get back into the field! This funding allows ANC to continue offering unique educational experiences and fostering cross-cultural connections. We’re looking forward to welcoming our Namibian guests and seeing the new perspectives these exchanges bring to both groups of students.
Stay tuned for updates and stories from the field!
