General Description

Aaniiih Nakoda College is seeking a full-time Allied Health/Health Science Instructor. The instructor is responsible for teaching students in classroom and lab environments. The instructor shall assist with the recruitment and retention of students to the Allied Health/Health Science program. The instructor shall maintain competency and knowledge of current research, practice and trends in allied health and the health sciences. The instructor shall actively participate in college life and activities. Under the supervision of the Dean of Academic Affairs; the instructor shall:

  • Teach 15 (approximately) credits per semester;
  • Manage laboratories as needed;
  • Serve as academic advisor to students in the Allied Health/Health Sciences programs;
  • Serve on curriculum committee and other committees as assigned;
  • Perform program assessment activities;
  • Coordinate the review and revision of the education programs;
  • Manage grant awards and activities;
  • Support the Nursing Education Program;
  • Supervise students research and internship activities; and,
  • Shall be willing to work with a full range of college students.

  • Solid knowledge and experience in the field of education;
  • Strong writing and communication skills;
  • Student advising and transcript evaluation;
  • Gifts of teaching and leadership both in the classroom and beyond; and,
  • Ability to integrate academic and cultural understanding.

Teaching Responsibilities

The Allied Health/Health Science Instructor shall be responsible for teaching any or all the following courses:

  • AH 101 Allied Health Professional (1 credit)
  • AH 145 Medical Terminology (3 credit)
  • AH 290 Allied Health Capstone (1 credit)
  • BIOB 160 Principles of Living Systems (3 credits)
  • BIOB L160 Principles of Living Systems Lab (1 credit)
  • BIOB 199 Special Topics (1-3 credits)
  • BIOB 260 Cellular/Molecular Biology (3 credits)
  • BIOB L260 Cellular/Molecular Biology Lab (1 credit)
  • BIOB 270 Bioethics (3 credits)
  • BIOH 201 Anatomy and Physiology I (3 credits)
  • BIOH L201 Anatomy and Physiology I Lab (1 credit)
  • BIOH 211 Anatomy and Physiology II (3credits)
  • BIOH L211 Anatomy and Physiology II Lab (1 credit)
  • BIOM 250 Microbiology for Health Sciences (3 credits)
